More bad news for ground turkey -- Cargill Meat Solutions is recalling 185,000 of ground turkey that could be contaminated with Salmonella Heidelberg.
The possible contamination is the same strain that caused a much larger August 3 recall on ground turkey. So far no illnesses have been linked to contaminated turkey.
A sample from the company's Springdale, Arkansas plant tested positive for salmonella, prompting the recall.
In the previous recall, illnesses were the catalyst. This time Cargill voluntarily recalled the meat before any illnesses could be reported.
The recall is nationwide, and the USDA is urging consumers to return tainted meat to where they purchased it.
