All You Can Eat!

This composer loved food as much, or maybe even more, than he loved music. In one letter, he raced through a description of the opening of a new opera, so that he could write about a new salad recipe. His favorite dishes were turkey stuffed with truffles and most anything with foie gras, but he enjoyed fine cuisine of all kinds. He even had many different dishes named after him! An aria from one of his operas has been nicknamed the "rice" aria because the composer supposedly composed while waiting for his risotto to cook. For the premiere of another opera, he had apple tart prepared, topped with an apple pierced by a sugar arrow.
