Last week, it was announced that White Nose Syndrome has been found on bats in Indiana caves.
White Nose Syndrome is a deadly disease which has killed over a million bats in the U.S. since 2006.
The disease interrupts a bat's hibernation cycle, causing them to burn their winter reserves before spring arrives, usually causing death.
A reduction in the number of bats in the state could cause severe damage to the ecosystem, and mosquito populations could rise dramatically.
