Dying is an inevitable process in everyone’s lives. And for those who suffer from terminal diseases, the question of dying becomes more immediate, more consuming.
The idea of a doula is relatively well known for the beginning of life. A doula helps the prospective mother with everything she needs to prepare to have a baby.
A newer concept features end-of-life or death doulas. These people set out to help those close to death make dying easier. Whether it be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual care, death doulas accompany people on the final months, weeks and days of their life journey.
