A federal judge in Washington, D.C., is blocking the Trump administration from transferring prisoners on federal death row in Indiana to a more restrictive facility in Colorado, ruling the move would likely violate the prisoners’ due process rights.

The Trump administration is in the process of sending the remaining 37 prisoners on death row in Terre Haute to ADX Florence, dubbed the Alcatraz of the Rockies.

Since Trump took office, officials have transferred ten of the 37 men Biden spared from execution to the "Alcatraz of the Rockies." One prisoner still awaiting transfer has attempted suicide.

President Trump signed an executive order instructing justice officials to review the conditions of prisoners receiving clemency to ensure they reflect the "monstrous" crimes they committed.

U.S. authorities are preparing to transfer former federal death row prisoners — currently held in Terre Haute — to a higher-security prison in Colorado.

President Trump is going after federal prisoners whose death sentences were commuted last month by former President Biden to life without parole.
