The National Weather Service released new information based on field visits to areas that sustained damage in the storm, including the area in Greene County where a woman died Friday evening.

Storms that swept across part of the Midwest and South killed least 27 people including 18 in Kentucky, where another 10 were hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.

Also ranked No. 13 for Most Instagrammed State Parks, assistant property park manager Patrick Halter attributes the park’s success to its staff and uniqueness.

Local fire departments and the DNR fire headquarters assessed the brush fire then as “large but slow moving.”

A ceremony opening the 1.6-mile Limekiln East trail in Brown County State Park was held earlier this month for the beginner-level mountain bike trail.
