Cheryl Munson

Feitl defeated seven other candidates Sunday afternoon in a precinct caucus at the county courthouse in downtown Bloomington. Cheryl Munson won last fall’s election but died in December.

The deadline to run for the vacant seat on the Monroe County Council was Thursday.

Before running for county council in 2012, Munson served 16 years on the Indian Creek Township board.

Trent Deckard, David Henry and Cheryl Munson have won the Democratic nominations for three at-large county council seats up for election this year.
