The Monroe Fire Protection District hopes to better serve the Washington Township area of Monroe County when it opens a new station at 478 E. Chambers Pike.

Because the commission was unable to pass a motion to postpone, there’s no set date for the next vote.

Cooling stations will be available during the heat advisory Thursday and Friday.
