Two studies released by the CDC say the flu vaccine was effective at preventing hospitalization during the 2022-2023 flu season.

The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) confirmed its first two flu deaths Thursday and is urging Hoosiers to get vaccinated.

The clinics are open only to current IU Bloomington faculty, staff and enrolled students.

State health officials say they’re worried fewer people will get vaccinated against the flu this year.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 913 Hoosiers died from the seasonal flu in 2019.

All IU students, faculty, and staff are eligible for a free vaccine at a future clinic site on Oct. 12 from 12-8 p.m. and Oct. 24 from 12-6 p.m.
