Monroe Fire Protection District opens new station

The Monroe Fire Protection District hopes to better serve the Washington Township area of Monroe County when it opens a new station at 478 E. Chambers Pike.

According to a news release from the Coroner's Office, the state fire marshal and Monroe Fire District fire investigator determined the fire was accidental and was caused by unattended cooking on the stove.
