The Mill

John Fernandez was appointed the CEO of the Mill.

John Fernandez, current senior vice president of innovation and strategic partnerships, was appointed interim executive director with East’s recommendation.

The recently constructed three-story building at the center of the Trades District is intended as office space for the city’s growing tech sector.

The Mill’s purchase will be financed by a grant from the Eli Lilly Foundation to IU, although a closing date hasn’t been set.

The Energy Sciences Network, a high-speed computer network serving the U.S. Department of Energy, is getting an office in Bloomington’s Trades District.

The Bloomington Redevelopment Commission (RDC) is moving forward with a $1.2 million offer for land in the Trades District planned for a hotel.

The Forge, part of the Bloomington Trades District Development, installed the final steel beam as part of a “topping off” ceremony for the structure. People in attendance signed the steel beam before it was installed.
