Pat East, longtime executive director of the The Mill, a co-working space startup in Bloomington, has resigned.

John Fernandez, current senior vice president of innovation and strategic partnerships, was appointed interim executive director with East’s recommendation.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to help build The Mill into what it is today,” East said in a news release. “Over the past six years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible impact this organization has had on Bloomington’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”

Under East’s leadership, The Mill secured multi-million-dollar grants and built several programs including the Flywheel Fund, Bloomington Remote, Crossroads, and Innovation Week.
