Indiana gambling regulators have approved the transfer of two Gary casino licenses to a company that aims to move them off the Lake Michigan shore.

The Indiana Gaming Commission on Friday approved the sale of the Majestic Star Casino boats to Spectacle Gaming. Spectacle is led by former executives of Centaur Gaming, which sold Hoosier Park in Anderson and Indiana Grand in Shelbyville to Las Vegas-based Caesars Entertainment Corp. last year for $1.7 billion.

The company seeks approval from the state Legislature to relocate one casino elsewhere in Gary and the other to Terre Haute, which is where Spectacle co-owner Greg Gibson lives. No hearing on the matter has been scheduled.

Spectacle announced in November it would buy Majestic Star. The sale price hasn't been disclosed.
