The opening concert at the new Brown County Music Center is sold-out.
Tickets went on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Friday for the August 24th Vince Gill concert and were gone in a half hour.
Brown County Music Center Director Dana Beth Evans says she was surprised by the quick sell-out and they’re looking into doing a second show.
“We’re looking at it," Evans says. "We don’t know if we can make it happen or not. We’re just seeing what we can come up with.”
Concertgoers can purchase tickets from a third party for prices as high as $600 on some websites.
Evans says that scalpers can still get their hands on tickets, despite their best efforts to limit resellers.
“I hate that, that that’s happening," Evans says. "We try very hard to make sure, we put a limit on tickets so that you can only purchase eight at a time to deter scalping.”
Evans says ticket purchasers should go through the official channels for tickets like the music center’s website or Ticketmaster to avoid scalpers.
