The ALDI store on S. Liberty Drive in Bloomington will reopen Oct. 10 after undergoing significant renovations. The store temporarily closed Sept. 2 for the remodel.

The changes are part of the company's plan to spend $1.9 billion nationwide on improving stores by the end of next year. ALDI opened a new store on the city's east side last month.

The west side store will feature a new layout with more refrigeration space and a 40 percent increase in fresh food selection.

ALDI will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 10 at 8:25 a.m. The event will feature a Golden Ticket giveaway, where the company will offer gift cards to the first 100 customers. People will also be able to enter to win a year's supply of produce.
