Bedford Police Working To Identify Human Remains Found In Woods

Bedford police are working with the University of Indianapolis to identify human remains found in a wooded area on Oct. 25.

A post on the Bedford Police Department’s Facebook page says the skeletal remains were discovered by a person walking their dog in the woods near 22 nd Street and F Street in Bedford.

Detective Kevin Jones confirmed Monday that the department worked with UIndy’s Human Identification Center Sunday to recover the remains. He says results of a DNA test won’t be available for at least six weeks.

The same Facebook post mentioned a September search conducted in the same area for Brian S. Blomquist, who was reported missing from Bedford in August. Blomquist was last seen near 24 th Street and G Street.
