The newly-formed Indiana Reproductive Justice Coalition collected and delivered valentines from constituents to state lawmakers Tuesday.
The IRJC formed earlier this year in response to several anti-abortion bills introduced at the Statehouse.
"Our representatives will get a visual of how many they have now, so it's not just the same letter, statement," says IRJC member Lauren Murfree. "This is more fun. They have to kind of look at it to see the time that someone put into make that Valentine to make a point."
Some of the notes thanked Senators and Representatives, but others encouraged the legislators to vote against proposals the group feels would be detrimental to reproductive rights in the state.
The IRJC includes Indy Feminists, the Indiana National Organization of Women, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Indiana and Kentucky and other pro-abortion rights organizations.
