Eagle Pointe Resort Owner Released From Boone Co. Jail On Bond

The owner of Bloomington's Eagle Pointe Golf Resort is out of jail after posting a $500 bond.

According to court documents, Doug Thomas was transferred from Monroe County to the Boone County Jail on Monday, where he posted the bond. Boone County officials issued a warrant on Aug. 31 in a domestic case, and Monroe County officials arrested him shortly after.

The arrest is unrelated to the tax violations that shut down the Eagle Pointe Golf Resort last week. The restaurant, bar and pro shop remain closed this week. Monroe County Sheriff Brad Swain says they will remain closed "until further notice" because of unpaid sales and payroll taxes. It's the second time authorities have forcibly closed the business for this issue since Thomas purchased the golf resort in December.
