Sigma Nu Fraternity is suspending Indiana University's Beta Eta chapter due to violations related to hazing and alcohol, according to a joint statement Wednesday from Indiana University and national leadership for the fraternity.
According to the release, all activities and operations of the chapter must end immediately.
"The university supports the national Fraternity's swift and strong action and is in full agreement with this decision," said IU Vice Provost for Student Affairs Lori Reesor in the statement.
Fraternity members have until October 22 to move out of the house. Indiana University has given students a list of options for housing on- and off-campus.
Sigma Nu first established its IU chapter in 1892.
As we've previously reported, five Indiana University Greek organizations have faced disciplinary action over the past two years.
