The head of Upland Brewing Company is leaving at the end of the year and selling his interest in the company to the investors.
Doug Dayhoff helped purchase the business in 2006.
In a statement, Dayhoff said the time was right personally for him to step away. He praised the current management team and highlighted the businesses' successes – going from 20 people brewing a couple times each week, to employing more than 200 people today.
"I'm leaving the business in the very capable hands of the BEST management team in independent beer who will carry this momentum into the next decade of growth and development," Dayhoff wrote.
Upland is the third largest brewery in the state.
Dayhoff says he's been working with the board for several months to develop a transition plan.
He didn't say what's next but that he has a couple ideas for his next adventure.
Upland is immediately beginning the search for Dayhoff's replacement.
