The Interfaith Emergency Winter Shelter is holding training sessions for volunteers before it officially opens this season.
The shelter offers homeless in Monroe County a low-barrier winter shelter to sleep during the winter.
Volunteers can attend training sessions throughout the month of October. Officials from the shelter say special times can be arranged for training if needed.
Officials say those interested in volunteering can find updated information on the shelter's Facebook page and website.
The shelter opens its doors on Nov. 1 and closes March 31.
