Bloomington police arrested a 17-year-old male after they say he shot a man on the city’s East side Wednesday night.

Officers responded to a call at 11:40 p.m. on Jan. 1 for a man who had been shot in the parking lot of 3811 E. Morningside Drive.

The 26-year-old victim was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where he is being treated for gunshot wounds.

Police say the shooting stemmed from previous incidents between the two, where there had been disputes over women.

Officers took the 17-year-old suspect into custody without incident.

The juvenile faces a charge of attempted murder, a level “A” felony.

He has been transported to a juvenile detention center and is awaiting court.
