Holcomb Announces $400M Investment In Kokomo Fiat-Chrysler Facilities

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb opened his fourth annual State of the State address last night with a focus on jobs and the economy.

He announced Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles will make a $400 million investment in its Kokomo transmission and casting plants.

2019 was a rocky year for automakers in Indiana. In October, United Auto Workers members across the nation and in Indiana ended a 40-day national strike at General Motors facilities, and UAW workers at the Indiana Fiat-Chrysler plants reached a tentative contract agreement in December.

And just this week, more than 200 temporary workers were let go from the GM assembly plant in Fort Wayne.

Holcomb did not say whether the investment would add jobs in Kokomo.
