Bloomington City Council approved the rezoning of a tract of land at the corner of Longview Avenue and North Pete Ellis Drive Wednesday night.
Councilmember Ron Smith says future plans call for IU Health related businesses to share the space with apartment units and parking spaces.
The project would take up about 19,000 square feet extending as far as East 7th Street.
Smith says the apartments would cater to working class families. It’s being developed by Curry Urban Properties.
Details on how the structure will look must go before the Bloomington Planning Commission, and then the city council.
