The Indiana Department of Transportation will restrict traffic on State Road 45/46 near the future IU Health Regional Academic Health Center to one lane in each direction starting Monday.
Traffic on the bypass will be reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane between 10th Street and 17th Street. East Discovery Parkway will also be closed starting Monday.
An INDOT news release says the closure is part of a $2.4 million project to improve the S.R. 46/Discovery Parkway intersection ahead of the new hospital's planned opening.
The department expects to complete the project, which includes storm sewer improvements, signal work and added turn lanes, by July 2020.
