Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced Monday new directives for mitigating the spread of coronavirus throughout the state, including closing bars and restaurants to dine-in patrons and postponing elective and non-emergency medical procedures.
The news release from the governor also notes that only 16 of the state's 289 school districts are still using in-person instruction.
Holcomb's new directives require bars and restaurants to close to in-person patrons through the end of March. Businesses will still be allowed to provide take-out and delivery services.
Additionally, Holcomb announced further restrictions on state employees and facilities, closing the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites beginning Tuesday and limiting non-essential in-person meetings of state employees to 10 people or less.
Indiana state parks and recreation areas will remain open.
Holcomb also directs Hoosiers who are able to donate blood to visit local blood centers, as blood supplies are low.
The governor is set to conduct a COVID-19 briefing with other state officials later Monday.
