A Monroe County 4-H volunteer accused of using a club credit card for thousands of dollars in personal expenses has died.

A Monroe County 4-H volunteer accused of using a club credit card for more than $11,000 in unauthorized personal expenses has died.

The Monroe County Coroner's Office confirmed Penny Hudoff, 51, died Wednesday.

Investigators said bank and transaction records showed Hudoff had been issued a credit card for the club and allegedly used it for personal purchases and ATM cash withdrawals over the past five to six years.

The probable cause affidavit says at least $11,418.79 in purchases and withdrawals were determined to be unauthorized. An additional $7,817.89 in transactions were considered suspicious.

Hudoff spoke with Bloomington police Aug 3.

An online obituary said she was associate director of records and degree administration at IU for more than 25 years.

“Act Independently” is one of the basic creeds of journalism ethics, and we claim it proudly. The WFIU/WTIU News facilities are located on the campus of Indiana University, which does hold our broadcast license and contribute funding to our organization. However, our journalists and senior news leaders have full authority over journalistic decisions — what we decide to cover and how we tell our stories. We observe a clear boundary: Indiana University and RTVS administrators focus on running a strong and secure organization; WFIU/WTIU journalists focus on bringing you independent news you can trust.
