Three Indiana patients infected with COVID-19 died Sunday.
They were residents of Scott, Marion and Allen counties. All three victims were over the age of 50 with underlying medical conditions.
The announcement brings the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana to seven.
The Indiana State Department of Health said 201 Indiana residents had been diagnosed as of Sunday.
The person in Scott County was self-quarantining at a home and passed away there, the county’s health department reported separately.
“We send condolences to the family and friends of the one who passed,” said Dr. Kevin Rogers in a statement.
Scott County's Health Department says it has contacted "all possible exposures and place of employment."
“This is a stark reminder of the severity of the disease. We as a community must listen to the guidance of the experts and practice all the ways to not spread this disease including social distancing. We all must protest those who are most vulnerable.”
