Indiana Dept. Of Correction Announces First Coronavirus-Related Inmate Death

The Indiana Department of Correction reported today that an inmate has died after testing positive for COVID-19.

According to the agency, the inmate was a male over the age of 70, and was transported to the hospital yesterday. He died yesterday evening. 

A news release from the IDOC says the man was an inmate at Westville Correctional Facility in Westville, Ind. The department says it has no other information available at this time.
