Listen: Cruz Drops Out Of Presidential Race

Addressing a watch party in Indianapolis, Republican Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz announced he is dropping out of the race.

He has been campaigning in the Hoosier state for the last week and a half.

He said he would stay in the race as long as he was "a viable candidate."

After losing to Donald Trump early in the evening, he said he was forced to withdraw from the race.

"We gave it everything we got but the voters chose a different path. So with a heavy heart and with much optimism, we are suspending our campaign. But we are not suspending our fight for liberty," Cruz said.

Capping announcement with an optimistic message, "We will fight on" for the future of America.

Cruz took time to thank the hundreds of volunteers who stepped up to help his campaign 13 months ago.

"I'm so grateful to you, my amazing wife, Heidi," Cruz said.

After Cruz announced his campaign's suspension, Trump spoke positively about him.

"I have met some of the most incredible competitors right here in the Republican Party," Trump said. "Ted Cruz is one hell of a competitor."

Trump, with Kasich his only remaining competition, reflected on his experience running for the Republican nomination.

"It's been an unbelievable day, evening and year," Trump said. "It's a beautiful thing to watch, to behold. Let's make America great again."

Thanks @realDonaldTrump for giving voice to the frustration of millions of Americans w the failed policies in D.C. & defending Hoosier jobs.
