Daybook: Chocolate Moose Meeting & Maple Syrup

Good morning! Here are the stories our team is following today:

  • A special meeting of the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission will meet 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Bloomington City Hall to vote on whether or not a developer can demolish the existing Chocolate Moose stand. The developer would build a multi-use structure in its place, with the Chocolate Moose business moving into the new space. Harrison Wagner ( @The_Wagoneer) will tweet updates from the meeting.
    • Maple syrup production is closely connected to the weather, and experts say climate change is affecting maple tree sap. Energy and environmental reporter Nick Janzen ( @Nick_Janzen) is digging into the details of this story.
      • U.S. Sen. Dan Coats and former Sen. Richard Lugar will present today at a conference on America's role in the world. The conferenceis held at the Indiana University School of Global and International Studies this week. Follow WFIU News ( @WFIUNews) for details.
