The Indiana recount commission meets today to discuss two races from the May 3 election. Ron Drake leads David Orentlicher by just 53 votes out of nearly 60,000 in the 8th congressional district for the Democratic nomination. Orentlicher has filed for a recount. A historic church in New Albany is getting a new steeple today, more than 100 years after a lightning strike destroyed the original spire. The original steeple was visible in Kentucky, across the Ohio River, and was used as a marker for slaves seeking freedom before and during the Civil War period.
