A legislative study committee will meet for the third of six scheduled meetings to discuss the impact of illegal immigration on Indiana. Previous meetings included expert testimony from out-of-state legislators and a closer look at how much immigration costs the state. More details are coming in about an Indiana man who was arrested on his way to a Los Angeles-area Pride parade. James Wesley Howell of Jeffersonville was arrested with three assault rifles and explosive chemicals in his car. Howell also faces a criminal investigation back in Indiana and is on probation for a previous intimidation conviction. Follow WFIU News ( @WFIUNews) for continuing coverage.
From the Associated Press: Indiana Landmarks wants to sell one South Bend building to help renovate another. The South Bend Tribune reports the preservation agency wants to sell the Remedy Building that has housed its offices since 2002 to pay for work at the Kizer mansion. The Remedy Building was built in 1895 by Albert H. Kelley. It was an office and laboratory for his patent medicine firm, the South Bend Remedy Co.
