July Fourth Gas Prices Lowest In Years

Gas prices are the lowest they've been in years and aren't expected to go up for the next few days.

"We tend to see that whenever there is a holiday and the demand is greater the prices go up, but this year they're staying at the lowest they've been in several years, so that's exciting to see," says Sherry Dean, AAA Hoosier Motor Club spokesperson.

Gas prices at the end of the week are at an average of $2.19 a gallon. That price has dropped down more than 75 cents in the past couple of weeks.

Since gas prices are so low, travel is also going to be at a record high this weekend.

You can find gas as low as $1.87 at a couple of gas stations in Greenwood, Whiteland and Indianapolis.

The current national average is $2.28 per gallon.
