Brad Bough has defeated Sam Shaw in the Bedford Republican mayoral primary election.
Bough is currently the Lawrence County veterans service officer. He will face incumbent Independent candidate Mayor Shawna Girgis in November.
He won the primary election with 80 percent of the votes.
