Sophomore Devin Davis and senior Hanner Mosquera-Perea have been dismissed from the Indiana University men's basketball program effective immediately.
In a statement, IU Athletics said the players were "not living up to their responsibilities to the program."
Davis was cited earlier this week for possessing marijuana in his dorm room.
WISHTV reports Mosquera-Perea was with Davis but was not charged with any crime.
Davis was part of an incident last year where his teammate Emmitt Holt hit him with his car. Davis was injured, forcing him to miss the entire 2014-15 season. Both of the players has been drinking.
The NCAA suspended Mosquera-Perea in 2012 for receiving impermissible benefits.
Davis, a 6-foot seven-inch forward, averaged 8.8 points and 2.5 rebounds and had 13 blocks in his freshman season.
Mosquera-Perea averaged 6.5 points per game in the 2014-15 season. He played on average 19 minutes per game, up significantly from the 6 minutes and 8 minutes he played on average during his freshman and sophomore seasons respectively.
