Republican Congressman Marlin Stutzman announced on Facebook Friday he will make a 'major announcement' next weekend.
According to NewsChannel 15, Stutzman previously said he was considering running for Senator Dan Coats' seat.
Coats announced in March he will not seek re-election.
That leaves the GOP field wide open. Congressmen Todd Rokita and Todd Young are also considering running in the primary.
Coats' chief of staff Eric Holcomb has already announced he is running.
Stutzman will make the announcement at 1 p.m. May 9 in Roanoke.
