Sunday's heavy rains and high winds are to blame for damage to some Mooresville businesses and homes.
Residents and business owners were busy clearing debris Monday.
The flooding forced Brian Gunnell's family out of their home that had been in their family for more than 100 years.
"It's kinda the way things go, and you roll with the punches the best you can," Gunnell says.
He says insurance will not cover their losses.
Water came bubbling up through the air registers in other homes leaving five inches of standing water. Others had to deal with dirty water from backed up sewers.
A flood watch remains in effect through Tuesday morning.
