Thousands of people across southern and central regions of Indiana were still without power as of Wednesday afternoon.
The latest figures from Indianapolis Power and Light show 10,763 IPL customers in the dark. That's down from more than 28,000 people who did not have power on Tuesday.
Duke Energy has fixed many of its outages, reducing the total number of outages in the region to close to 2,000.
Severe storms that rolled through the state earlier this week produced high winds and heavy rains, knocking out the power of more than 43,000 homes earlier this week.
