Potholes have turned some roads into obstacle courses for Indiana drivers.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says this winter has been relentless when it comes to addressing potholes.
INDOT spokesman Nathan Riggs says the state has already spent $2.9 million filling them this winter. He says the state has also used close to 7,000 tons of cold mixed asphalt and logged more than 8,100 employee hours.
INDOT is responsible for potholes on state and U.S. roadways. But Riggs says about 40 percent of the pothole tweet reports they've gotten have been for roads managed by localities - not INDOT.
