Oliver Winery is opening a new location in downtown Bloomington to celebrate its 40-year anniversary.
Oliver Winery Manager Drew Kincius says the new location is exciting for both the winery and its customers.
"For forty years, we've been asking people to come to the winery to visit us, and now were coming to you," Kincius says. "We're on the square now, which is really fun."
Although the winery is only blocks away from Butler Winery, Kincius says he does not foresee any direct competition.
"There isn't another restaurant or business that's doing exactly what we're doing, that we serve the wine the way that we do, with the food as well," Kincius says. "So small of plates of food will be available all day [Wednesday]. Tasting will be available all day. I expect tomorrow to be controlled chaos."
The winery is hosting a soft opening Tuesday evening, and the grand opening begins Wednesday at 11 a.m.
