More than 100 schools, programs, and organizations set up tables in Alumni Hall this afternoon for Indiana University's annual Health Programs Fair.
Booths, posters, and pamphlets helped to educate the crowd of aspiring doctors, dentists and nurses on the variety of careers available in health care. Indiana University student Kourtney Nicholson attended the fair.
"At first I did want to become an actual physician, but once I looked further into it, I saw that being a physician assistant fit me most," Nicholson said.
Rachel Tolen, IU Assistant Director Health Professions and Pre-law Center, helps organize the fair each year and said connections students make today can benefit them tomorrow.
"Students who have been preparing for admission to medical school or health programs will have a chance at the fair to speak directly with people who may be reviewing their applications later on," Tolen said.
Medical professions are notoriously competitive and Tolen said any edge students can get over their peers will help.
