The City of Bloomington on Monday confirmed four new COVID-19 cases among City employees.
A Public Works employee, a city hall employee, a Bloomington Utilities employee and a parks department employee all tested positive for coronavirus before Christmas, according to a press release from the mayor’s office. This makes 51 cases among City employees since the pandemic began and 18 cases confirmed in December. These four cases are not linked to one another.

According to the release, the City has conducted workspace cleaning protocol and contacted co-workers identified as close contacts.
The CDC defines a close contact as someone within six feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting two days before symptoms appeared — or, for asymptomatic clients, two days prior to positive specimen collection.
All four employees went on leave to recover.
