A Bloomington City Hall employee tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing symptoms over the weekend.
A City press release says the employee was tested Monday after experiencing symptoms the day before and received a positive result on Tuesday. The employee works remotely, and the City said it identified no close contacts among coworkers or the public. The infected employee will continue working remotely, according to the release.

This new case increases the City total to 52 cases among Bloomington employees since the pandemic began and 19 cases this month. On Monday, the mayor’s office reported four additional positive cases identified over the weekend.
Yael Ksander, Bloomington Communications Director, has previously said City employees don’t appear to be contracting the virus at work.
