Victim In Deadly Bloomington Hit And Run Identified As National Guardsman

18-year-old Matthew Roecker died from injuries sustained after he was struck by a car on Jan. 16.

According to Monroe County Coroner Joani Shields, Roecker, of Poland, Ind., was an active National Guardsman who was deployed to Bloomington to aid with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bloomington Police have arrested a suspect in the hit and run accident, which occurred near West 17 ^th Street and Kinser Pike.
