The Indiana Department of Health reported Monday 1,065 new COVID-19 cases — the lowest single-day caseload reported since Oct. 5.
Indiana has recorded a decrease in all COVID-19 numbers including tests since the beginning of 2021. Along with the new cases, the IDOH documented 58 new deaths, increasing state totals to 640,744 positive cases and 11,459 deaths. Indiana averages about 2,000 cases and 40 deaths every day.
COVID-19 hospitalizations increased by five to 1,292 but remains one of the lowest totals recorded since the second week of October. Patients with the virus occupy 13.1% of ICU beds, with 37.2% of beds still available.
The state has administered more than 7.3 million tests on more than 3 million Hoosiers with a seven-day positivity rate of 6.6%.
Nearly 700,000 individuals have received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 223,500 Hoosiers have received both doses.

In Monroe County, the IDOH reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths, increasing the county totals to 287,806 cases and 154 deaths.
Fifty-two people in the area are hospitalized from COVID-19, and patients with the virus occupy 8.7% of ICU beds. More than 65% of ICU beds in the area remain available.
The county has administered more than 9,946 tests, with a 2% seven-day positivity rate.
More than 14,000 Monroe County residents have received their first does of the vaccine. The county gave second doses to more than 1,000 people over the weekend, bringing the county’s total of fully vaccinated individuals to 5,170.
