The City of Bloomington recorded its 69 th positive COVID-19 case among City workers, according to a press release.
The fire department employee tested positive Feb. 5, after starting to experience symptoms the day before. This is the 14 th fire employee to test positive since March.
The employee worked their last shift Feb. 2, according to the release, and co-workers identified as close contacts were notified. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a close contact as someone within six feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes, starting two days before symptoms appear.

According to the City, the employee had no exposure to the general public in the course of their work.
The Indiana Department of Health reported Thursday 43 new cases in Monroe County, increasing the county total to 10,036 cases. The death toll remained 155.
