More than 10,000 cases of COVID-19 have occurred in Monroe County since March 2020.
The Indiana Department of Health reported Thursday 43 new cases in Monroe County, totaling 10,036 cases since March 21. The county currently averages slightly more than 30 cases a day. The death toll in Monroe County remains at 155.
Hospitalizations in the county have fallen to 39, the lowest number since Oct. 8. COVID-19 patients in the area occupy less than 5% of ICU beds, with 71.2% of beds remaining available. Fewer than 3% of ventilators are in use.
Monroe County has administered more than 298,300 tests, with a seven-day positivity rate of 2.1%.
More than 14,800 Monroe County residents have received their first dose of the vaccine, and 6,666 residents have been fully vaccinated.

Across Indiana, the IDOH reported 1,762 new cases of COVID-19 and 26 deaths, increasing the state totals to more than 645,000 cases and 11,604 deaths.
More than 1,220 Hoosiers are currently hospitalized from COVID-19, and patients with the virus occupy 11% of ICU beds. More than 35% of beds in the state remain available.
The state has administered more than 7.4 million tests, with a 6.1% seven-day positivity rate.
Nearly 760,000 Hoosiers have received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while almost 280,000 have received both doses.
