Heavy snow that began falling this afternoon in Bloomington is expected to continue until around 9 tonight.
National Weather Service lead meteorologist Crystal Pettet says about 1 or 2 inches of snow an hour will fall through the evening.
She says lighter snow will continue after that until about 7 tomorrow morning.
She adds it will be a dry snow and blowing winds will cause drifting, even after snow has stopped.
“The blowing and drifting could continue to create problems, especially in rural areas throughout the day tomorrow.”
Visibility will be low during heavy snow fall, as winds will be up to 20 miles per hour.
