Indiana women’s basketball recent success is paying off for head coach Teri Moren. The university and Moren agreed to a contract extension through 2027, increasing her annual average compensation to $862,500.
Bonuses would be given for Big Ten championships, NCAA/WNIT Tournament participation and victories, coach of year honors, and team academic accomplishments.
Seymour native Moren was hired in 2014 after spending four seasons at Indiana State University.
IU Athletics Director Scott Dolson said in a press release that, with six straight 20-win seasons and this year’s run to the Elite Eight, Moren has built IU’s program into one of the best in the Big Ten.
"This new contract places her in the upper echelon among her conference peers, rewards those achievements, and recognizes the upward trajectory that we are on,” he said. “In my more than 30 years with the department, I've never been as excited about the future of IU women's basketball."
Moren’s teams also have been ranked nationally for 37 straight weeks dating back to last season, and entered the nation's top 10 for the first time in program history earlier this season.
